| While traveling to Seattle from California in 2004 to attend the National Train Show I had the chance to stop by and visit Nick Butkov in Medford, Oregon and to operate trains on the layout he is building. I have included a few photos here. The layout occupies parts of two rooms in the basement level of the house. At the time I visited, not all areas of the layout had finished scenery but what is completed is done quite well. The backdrop is hand painted. All of the main line track work was in place and everything ran perfectly. Nick models transition era Southern Pacific and Santa Fe and uses System One DCC. |
