This club started in 1991 and currently has about 25 active members.  With a wide range of interest in terms of modeling era, favorite railroads, and types of equipment, there is always a lot of action on any of our layouts.

We follow the most basic Ntrak module standard with modules using the red, yellow, and blue lines in the standard alignments. We operate our layouts with a combination of multi-block DC throttles and Digitrax DCC.

We don't have any permanent layout.  We keep all the club owned modules and equipment in our trailer and set up a layout several times a year at public train shows.    We try to stay flexible in how we set up our layouts and don't ever set up the same way twice.

Woops !

The Pennsylvania Railroad cabin cars (cabooses) were known for their structural strength.  That got put to the test on our layout at the Cow Palace in March of 2007. Rob Mantler's train got rear ended by another train on the yellow line just as the three cabooses were passing through the long set of truss bridges on Nick Freschhertz's module. It took a bit of work by the crew to extract the three cabooses from inside the bridge and Travice Whitten got this photo before the wreck was cleared.

Most of the shows where we display a layout are in the Bay Area but we have also traveled to out of area train shows and conventions.

This is our planned schedule for the remainder of 2008:

September 29th & 30th -

We will have a layout at the Great Train Expo

The Santa Clara County Fairgrounds
344 Tulley Road
San Jose, California

We are confirmed for a 40ft x 40ft layout space

November 24th & 25th -

We will have a layout at the Great Train Expo

The Alameda County Fairgrounds
4501 Pleasanton Avenue
Pleasanton, California
